SOLD-Gibson ES-333 - MINT - w/HSC
Gibson ES-333 Left handed and in mint, like new condition. This is the workingman’s version of the ES-335. The same semi-hollow body size, scale length, and pickup layout but without the added detailing given to its more expensive cousin.
This particular 333 is loaded with Gibson 490 and 498 magnetic pickups, complete with chrome covers. Many 333’s have the open coil ceramic style. Tonally this is one absolute monster in a collection that runs deep with heavy competition. The mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard is also very similar to the 335 with a sweet semi-rounded grip that would fall in between Gibson’s 50’s fatter and 60’s slimmer Les Paul necks. There’s the slightest taper from the headstock to the body. The action of these necks I believe makes me a better player. It has the tulip style Gibson tuners that keep it in tune far better than the typical Les Paul tuners. Frets have very little wear. As with all my guitars this one is regularly maintained with proper humidity levels and cleaned and polished to help prevent pitting on the chrome hardware.
There are no scratches, dents, or dings. Electronics work correctly and operate quietly. Kept in a non-smoking environment. These guitars are no longer being offered by Gibson and seemed to have begun to be discovered for the excellent value they are and how fantastic they are to play almost every style of music with tone to the bone. Semi-hollows provide sustain like there’s no tomorrow. The intonation of both chords and single notes is very even for the full length of the fretboard.
It also comes with the original Gibson hard shell case that is also in excellent, near mint condition. It has a recent set up and intonation done by my luthier tech with 40 years experience. You will amaze yourself playing this lean, mean tone machine. I love semi-hollows and will hate to part with it. I have numerous others and simply have to thin the herd so I can give what’s left more play time. You will be hard pressed to find a semi-hollow of any variety that surpasses this tonally. It is also featured in the gallery at Pancho’s Lefty’s.com. The natural color with gloss finish will age nicely over time and has already mellowed some. It was built in 2003 and has not been played as much as it warrants. Some lucky lefty will immediately fall in love with guitar. It’s currently strung with Gibson Brite Wires .010 - .046.
